Being fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.

We all have things we love to do. Right? So why are we so scared to go after and achieve our dreams? What will people think, will I fail, am I good enough, will I look stupid? If you fail try again! Don't let one failed attempt stop you from going after your dreams. What will people think is a big one. This goes along with insecurity. Why do we worry so much about what others think? If you are doing something that sets your soul on fire, that makes you happy than DON'T acknowledge the hate. Don't let people get in your head. What you meditate on is what you believe and what you believe is what you become. Have confidence in yourself, yet stay humble.

My whole life I've loved to sing. My whole life I've gone to church. But they have always been separate.
I remember when someone suggested I sing in my youth group. I was absolutely terrified to sing in front of anyone so I said "no thanks."
7th grade rolled around and I got asked to help out and sing on summer camp. I wanted to so badly but I was too scared of if I was good enough, will I fail, and what will people think. Even though I was terrified I agreed to sing. I prayed and said "God use me". Summer camp came and I had NO clue what was happening. What are in-ears, how do I turn on a mic, what's a click, how do you sing a harmony and believe me LOTS more. After summer camp I started singing every now and then in youth. Still terrified, still confused, But with time I learned the whole run down. I learned that THIS is what I love to do and what I want to pursue. I learned that when you have opportunities to be in the spotlight that can come with pride and jealousy. That was a lesson in itself. The glory isn't for me but for the king. You can't become self-indulged when opportunities come.
When I gave my gifts to God and said "This isn't about me but you." He took my dreams and made them bigger. Pursue what you love. Be bold. Put God in the center of all your gifts and He will bless them.

Pursue what you love. And stay humble.
